What I hadn’t counted on was how heavy and awkward that would make the task of edging. I have some spinal injuries so I thought that might have contributed to my difficulties. I love this new edger! It was easy to put together and easy to use. I, too, started with the traditional gas edger. All I was thinking at the time was the ease of use (no cord to hassle with).

Early on I would go too far into the grass and later I would scrap the edge of the walk. Eventually, I got it. I had to go over the same spot a couple of times so it could cut the sheer amount of grass that was over the edge of the driveway. Once I got that part out of the way I feel it will be very easy to use since the grass will never be overgrown like that ever again.

After doing so, there were never any complaints! This is a great buy!

Go ahead and enjoy your Black & Decker Edge Hog! This is a good basic edger, but it is best suited for small lawns because you have to drag that cord around.

I have edged my yard with this tool for a few years now. Positives on this edger: It is light and easy to maneuver. I was going to purchase a Craftsman edger, but after seeing all the bad reviews, I decided not to go with gas and bought the Edge Hog after seeing all the reviews on Amazon. Got the Edge Hog out of the box.

I had to switch the handle to the other side and stand to the right of it so I could see–which I think the instructions probably told me, but I forgot. Once I got going, it was great. The only problem I did encounter was when I got into the thicker growth (2-3″) and the Edge Hog would clog. But it was really my fault. The key trick that I found for myself is to lift the right side up, press the trigger, start the blades humming and then slowly sink it at the right spot. This way, the thing holds and doesn’t budge left or right. Wish it would cut a wider swath as it works. Got tired of edging by hand or with a string trimmer, liked the Amazon price and the maker. If you try and use it after watering your lawn or after a rain mud will clump inside the edger and clog it up. I have also found the first edge of the season, or the first time you use it if you haven’t ever edged your lawn, can be challenging for you and the edger.

When trimming denser grass, the guard tends to catch on the grass. KIDS TABLE AND CHAIRS.
